Job description

The Senior Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Maintenance Technician will maintain and repair air conditioning and refrigeration equipment and services on commercial kitchen equipment at the Florence Detention Center in Florence, Arizona. This position will report to the Project Manager.

Primary/Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

1. Manage the maintenance processes of the equipment, including corrective, preventative, routine, emergency, and cosmetic maintenance, and evaluate equipment information to ensure conformity to industry standards.
2. Perform maintenance and repair on Building Automation System (BAS), Energy Management System (EMS), and Direct Digital Controls (DDC) Control System.
3. Utilize GTI software, iPads with FLIR cameras, and ultrasonic testing equipment to generate reports on specified equipment.
4. Complete all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

1. A minimum of five (5) years full-time experience in the air conditioning and refrigeration trade as an HVAC/R technician in a commercial or institutional setting.
2. High School Diploma or Equivalent.
3. At least two (2) years leadership experience as a Lead Technician or Foreman.
4. Experience in maintenance and repair on BAS, EMS, and DDC systems.
5. The position may require lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, and standing for extended periods of time, bending, pushing, pulling, some climbing and balancing may be needed. Significant hand and finger dexterity required. Environment, while generally hazard-free, may include some exposure to dust and varying temperatures.
6. Security Clearance (or ability to obtain upon hire).
7. Pursuant to Government contract, must be a U.S. Citizen.
