A Washington, D.C. based government contracting firm is seeking an internal Sr. Human Resource Specialist to manage daily HR functions including onboarding/offboarding, administering pay, benefits, leave, enforcing policies, processing payroll, and maintaining employee records.

Duties/Responsibilities
  1. Review, track, and document compliance with training, education, and assessments such as safety and anti-harassment training, licensure, and certifications.
  2. Implement new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  3. Administer HR programs related to compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary actions, investigations, performance management, safety, and training.
  4. Handle employment inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex issues appropriately.
  5. Ensure compliance with employment laws and review policies regularly.
  6. Stay updated on HR trends, legal regulations, and new technologies.
  7. Process payroll information, including salaries, bonuses, deductions, and tax deposits.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.
