Job summary

Morrison Healthcare, a Compass Group USA company, seeks a Senior Human Resources Manager for Rochester, MN. You will partner with site leaders to drive employee relations, recruiting, training and retention programs, while ensuring policy compliance and effective handling of labor agreements.

You will oversee investigations, support union-related processes, and develop communications with hourly associates. Travel up to 20% by auto or plane may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required; Master's preferred.
  • 3+ years’ experience in Labor and Employment Relations.
  • Capacity to service multiple locations.
  • PHR or SPHR designation strongly preferred.
  • Experience with recruiting, training and retention programs.
  • Experience leading investigations and creating corrective action.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Unit Managers and Regional Directors with adherence to policies and labor agreements.
  • Monitor day-to-day compliance with wages, hours and working conditions; enforce protocols.
  • Oversee grievance process and investigations; guide action on disciplinary matters.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding and training programs in partnership with Operations.
  • Support union-related processes, negotiations and conflict resolution.
  • Develop reports and communications; manage records and audits.

Job Summary

A world leading provider of contract services has a great opportunity for career development and growth as a Senior Human Resources Manager in Rochester, MN.

The position is accountable for achieving environments which are consistent with company policies, procedures and work rules, and free of unnecessary litigation. The position assists Human Resources leadership and location leaders in the administration of company policies, client location policies, collective bargaining agreements and provides consultation to unit directors. The position also is responsible for assisting operating management and Human Resources in creating and enhancing employee relations environments, recruiting programs, employee training and retention efforts.

  • Assists Unit Managers and Regional Directors with adherence to company policies, client location policies and labor agreements where applicable.
  • Assures compliance by monitoring day to day implementation of policies and procedures, wages, hours and working conditions; develops an environment that adheres to these protocols
  • Oversee fact-finding process and provide guidance with investigation of employee corrective action situations and operating unit grievances.
  • Reviews and approves disciplinary documentation for hourly associates prior to administration of corrective action at Unionized locations.
  • Manages unit grievance process.
  • Oversee administration of Union benefit programs monitoring for compliance and cost savings
  • Creates and communicates reports, grievance responses, Seniority Lists, documentation requests and Audit results in a timely manner.
  • Partners with Operations in developing and leading recruiting, training and retention programs
  • Maintains records and tracking logs in order to identify and improve problem areas.
  • Assists Human Resources Director and Labor Relations leadership with the preparation and negotiations of grievances, labor agreements, investigations, mediation, arbitration and hearings on labor and employee relations issues
  • Oversees hourly recruitment and onboarding.
  • Provides training and counseling for front line associates as well as management
  • Partners with Human Relations Director and Operations in advancing sound employee relations protocols.
  • Bachelors degree or Certification in Human Resources or comparable program is required; Masters Degree preferred
  • 3 or more years’ experience in Labor and Employment Relations
  • Capacity to service multiple locations
  • PHR or SPHR designation strongly preferred.
  • Experience with recruiting, training and retention programs
  • Experience leading investigations and creating corrective action.
  • Ability to relate effectively with hourly employees, unit directors and District/Regional Managers.
  • Experience with Union organizing campaigns and awareness training with operators.
  • Willing and able to travel up to 20% by auto or plane.
  • Experience in food, health services and support services a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal presentations skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities and adhere to deadlines is required
  • Ability to communicate in multiple languages a plus.
