Job summary

Weidmann Electrical Technology Inc (Wicor) in Urbana, OH is seeking a Senior HR Generalist to partner with site leadership on day-to-day HR operations and strategic people initiatives.

You will lead employee relations, policy administration, recruitment support, onboarding, and HR data analytics, while mentoring the HR team and driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 5–7 years HR generalist experience with employee relations, compliance, and project leadership.
• PHR or SHRM-CP certification required; SPHR or SHRM-SCP preferred.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state labor laws and regulations.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or 24/7 operations preferred.

As a Senior HR Generalist, you’ll support site leadership and employees across day-to-day HR operations and strategic people initiatives in Urbana, OH.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic and operational partner for employee relations, performance management, coaching, and workplace guidance, supporting a positive and engaged culture.
• Administer company HR policies and ensure HR best practices through employee relations casework, policy compliance, and support for leave administration.
• Help execute talent management activities including recruitment support, onboarding, performance management, employee development, succession planning, and workforce planning.
• Use HR systems and workforce data to maintain accurate records, spot trends, improve processes, and inform business decisions.
• Lead and contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor HR team members and collaborate with leadership to support organizational goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 5 to 7 years of progressive HR experience with direct exposure to employee relations, compliance, and HR project leadership.
• Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or 24/7 operations environment preferred.
• PHR or SHRM-CP certification required; SPHR or SHRM-SCP preferred.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state labor laws and regulations.
• Proven ability to influence and build effective relationships at all levels of the organization.
• High emotional intelligence with discretion and sound judgment when handling sensitive issues.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS systems (Dayforce, Workday, SAP), and ATS platforms.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
