Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Detroit, MI is seeking a Histology Technologist to lead lab operations across disciplines in a pathology setting. You will prepare tissue specimens for histology using manual and automated methods and contribute to teaching and quality initiatives.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree with biology and chemistry hours, 3 years of CAP-accredited lab experience, and ASCP HTL certification; QIHC by ASCP is a plus. Afternoons, 40 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university with a combination of at least 30 semester hours of biology and chemistry required.
• Three (3) years of experience with progressive responsibility in a CAP accredited histology laboratory setting required.
• ASCP Histology Technologist (HTL) certification required.
• For Sr. Histotechnologist in Immunohistochemistry, QIHC by ASCP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex analytic procedures transforming tissue samples into prepared specimens for histological examination using manual and automated methods.
• Share expertise by teaching routine and specialized laboratory techniques to teammates.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university with a combination of at least 30 semester hours of biology and chemistry required.
• Three (3) years of experience with progressive responsibility in a CAP accredited histology laboratory setting required.
• Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) as a Histology Technologist (HTL) required.
• For Sr. Histotechnologist in Immunohistochemistry, Qualification in Immunohistochemistry (QIHC) by ASCP preferred.
