A Brief Overview

Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Health & Safety at Safelite Group, the Senior Health & Safety Incident Specialist will be responsible for all aspects of the incident management program. This will include creation and implementation of risk assessment registry, tactical and strategic implementation of risk control methods, policies, along with operating procedures. The Sr. H&S Incident Specialist will champion incident prevention strategies, monitor leading/lagging KPIs and will support field & supply chain operations in all H&S matters to ensure associates finish their workday the same, or better than when they started, maintain and exceed regulatory compliance with federal, state and local regulations. The Sr. Health & Safety Incident Specialist will be essential to ensuring best practices related to Safety are continuously improving the front line experience for Safelite Associates, while ensuring regulatory compliance obligations are met or exceeded.

What You Will Do
  1. Travel to business locations to conduct physical/cultural safety risk assessments, and implement tactical/strategic risk controls to reverse lagging indicator trends.
  2. Develop and operationalize incident investigation strategy, develop leading/lagging indicators to monitor incident severity, repeat incident rates, and countermeasure controls effectiveness.
  3. Assist with policy/standard operating procedure and training creation based on risk assessment results, changes in regulatory requirements, and/or to mitigate lagging incident trends.
  4. Serve as H&S champion for H&S related questions, support and escalation needs.
  5. Ensure all required documentation is submitted accurately and in a timely manner.
  6. Develop corrective action strategies directly related to leading and lagging H&S KPIs.
  7. Ability to ethically handle sensitive and confidential information with impartiality and professionalism.
  8. Earn the trust, confidence, and endorsement of key leaders as a colleague, advisor, and collaborative leader.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.
  10. Comply with all policies and standards.
What You Will Need
  1. Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
  2. 4-6 years Progressive health and safety experience. Required.
  3. 1-3 years Experience with other parts of the business preferred.
  4. Safety Certification(s) Preferred.
  5. Strong commercial, investigation, strategic and analytical skills.
  6. Demonstrated ability to drive significant, positive impact across a large-scale operating company.
  7. Experience in OSHA Federal & State requirements, incident management, investigation & risk identification.
  8. Deep knowledge of the State/Federal regulations, OSHA definitions, NIOSH and ACGIH recommendations.
  9. Experience with a growth organization focused on culture and engagement.
  10. Experience in participating in national initiatives with heavy change management requirements.
