**Job Description Summary**

The Global Health & Safety Leader is responsible for efforts to deliver excellence through implementation of a robust and consistent H&S program that maintains compliance and reduces risk. In this role you will lead a team of subject matter experts tasked with solving complex Health & Safety challenges and implementing strategic defenses that meet business needs across multiple organizations. The Global Health & Safety Leader will identify & lead strategic initiatives and collaborate with members of the Global EHS Staff and organizational EHS Leaders driving improvements in the existing EHS Management System, long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.

**Job Description**

**Roles and Responsibilities**

+ Leverage operating cadences, daily management practices, actionable planning, and effective problem-solving techniques to proactively reduce risks and prevent injuries.

+ Partner effectively with organizational EHS and operations leaders to align strategy that best prioritizes actions with business risk to ensure focused execution.

+ Drive initiatives to ensure EHS core requirements and technical standards are aligned with business risk, relevant industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.

+ Oversee the implementation and continuous enhancement of the company's EHS framework and management system structure to drive operational excellence.

+ Effectively communicate an assessment of EHS performance to senior site and business leaders, including key risks, best practices, and areas of improvement.

+ Partner with organizational EHS Leaders to deploy and implement the Company’s EHS strategy.

+ Drive improvement to critical EHS performance indicators for the global business.

+ Participate in multi-disciplinary EHS program and compliance audits that include internal/external auditors and EHS subject matter experts.

+ Propose actions that will aid the sites in closing gaps to audit requirements.

+ Conduct deep-dive data analysis for trends and improvement opportunities.

+ Responsible for solving issues and developing innovative solutions requiring new and innovative approaches.

+ Lead annual H&S strategic planning efforts to proactively identify future risks and focus areas.

+ As a people leader, lead the growth & development of team members as part of the company’s performance appraisal process.

**Minimum Required Qualifications**

+ Bachelor’s Degree accredited college or university (strongly preferred: engineering, operations, or EHS-related discipline from an accredited college or university)

+ Minimum of 5 years’ experience leading multi-disciplinary EHS programs for manufacturing operations in multiple locations.

+ Demonstrated domain expertise in multiple EHS disciplines/topics and ability to set and manage competing priorities to drive key deliverables.

+ Demonstrated experience deploying & implementing complex EHS programs and delivering training on complex or technical subject matter.

+ United States citizen with the ability to legally work in the United States at sites governed by the DoD.

+ Ability to travel domestically and globally up to 50%.

+ Candidates must hold a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation or demonstrate a willingness to obtain within 24 months of hire.

**Desired Characteristics and Experience**

+ Business leader with 10+ years of EHS management experience in large regulated, high hazard industrial companies.

+ Direct experience in EHS leadership and processes for a large company division.

+ Proven ability to lead, motivate and work effectively with diverse, highly matrixed, cross-functional global teams and external agencies in global environments spanning multiple time zones and cultures.

+ Excellent and concise communication skills demonstrated with an ability to listen and communicate clearly, effectively, and persuasively, in verbal and written presentations.

+ Demonstrated team building and engagement with staff, customers, consultants, and contractors.

+ Strong analytic skills, ability to analyze complex data sets.

+ Experience with GenSuite, ComplyWorks and other management systems of record

+ Detailed-oriented and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

+ Technical experience from the Aerospace / turbine sector

+ Experience in a Lean operating system environment. Track record of applying Lean in large, complex, global organizations; a systems thinker with a pragmatic, practical approach.
