Amazon Robotics is based in the greater Boston area and also has development centers in Seattle and Europe. Our diverse teams design, test, and build robotic systems, mechatronic solutions, and automation tools, focusing on autonomous movement, AI, machine learning, manipulation, and more.

The Supply Chain and Operations organization sources and manufactures robotics technology, ensuring timely delivery of materials to support our global fulfillment network. We are seeking an experienced Sr. Global Commodity Manager for Conveyors and Lifting Solutions with expertise in supplier management, new supplier onboarding, and strategic sourcing.

The ideal candidate will be a self-driven sourcing strategist with experience managing complex solutions, aligning technology roadmaps, and supporting engineering teams to develop innovative technologies while achieving cost goals. The role involves ensuring suppliers meet technical and commercial standards for our manufacturing and engineering needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage supplier relationships, performance, capacity planning, contracting, risk mitigation, and quality improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineering and program teams on new product introductions to align sourcing strategies with technical and business requirements.
  • Develop mechanisms for communicating forecast and capacity needs.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve supply or quality issues.
  • Align supplier strategies with Robotics objectives for production and new product launches.
  • Create and maintain a technology roadmap for the commodity and suppliers.
  • Maintain monthly supplier scorecards and conduct quarterly business reviews.
  • Travel periodically to supplier manufacturing sites, approximately 25% of the time.

Qualifications
Basic:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years in supply chain, commodity, and supplier management in a high-volume, global environment.
  • 3+ years working with technologies for sensors, light curtains, and perception systems.
  • Understanding of engineering requirements for electro-mechanical components.
  • Experience in developing and executing global sourcing strategies.
  • Negotiation skills with top semiconductor manufacturers.
Preferred:
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Ability to work in ambiguous environments with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Tableau, and ERP/PLM systems.
