Job summary

Vertical Semiconductor, a MIT spin-out, is hiring a Senior Characterization & Reliability Engineer to drive commercialization of vertical GaN devices. You will characterize devices for various applications using on-wafer and packaged tests, shaping development in a fast-paced startup.

You will work hands-on in a collaborative setting, with a preference for office presence at Greentown Labs (Somerville, MA) but open to hybrid arrangements, contributing to cross-functional teams and external

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in electrical engineering with a focus on power device design/characterization or 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Familiarity with power devices for medium voltage (600-1200 V) such as GaN HEMTs, SiC MOSFETs, or Si IGBTs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Characterize vertical GaN devices for a variety of target applications using on-wafer and packaged test setups.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to drive commercialization and growth in a fast-paced startup.
• Engage across cross-functional teams and external partners to advance development goals.
