Job summary

Vertical Semiconductor is seeking an (Senior) Applications Engineer to support customers designing in vertical GaN power devices (100 V – 2300 V). The role is hands-on: you will build and test power converter hardware, run simulations, and characterize fast-switching WBG devices on the bench while directly supporting customers.

You’ll work with the Principal Applications Engineer and Device Engineering teams, taking increasing ownership of customer engagements, evaluation hardware and technical

Qualifications

• Advanced degree with strong power electronics background.
• Hands-on bench experience with high-voltage or wide bandgap devices.
• Experience translating customer requirements into device and circuit specs.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer design-in support: simulations, bench testing, troubleshooting, optimization.
• Develop and run SPICE/PLECS models for vertical GaN power converters.
• Contribute to evaluation boards, reference designs, test plans and reports.
• Document customer requirements and share learnings with engineering teams.
