Job summary

Digital Extremes is seeking a senior game designer to define the core player experience across UI, combat, locomotion, mini-games, and co-op features for an action title. This leadership role partners with animation, programming, level design, and tools teams from concept to polish, with hybrid, remote, or on-site options at the London, Ontario studio.

You will mentor the design team, drive the creative vision, and ensure a polished, data-informed player experience across live service

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a designer in the video game industry.
  • Experience designing for live service or multiplayer environments.
  • Hands-on experience with first-person or third-person games.
  • Strong understanding of feedback loops, hit detection, and animation timing.

Role overview

A senior game designer is needed to define and drive the core player experience across user interface, character and enemy combat, locomotion, mini-games, and cooperative gameplay. This is a leadership-level creative role on an action game project, partnering with animation, programming, level design, and tools teams from concept through final polish. The position can be hybrid, remote, or on-site at the studio's London, Ontario location.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Proficiency with game engines and associated design tools
  • Ability to analyze gameplay data and user feedback to inform decisions
  • Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication across multidisciplinary teams
  • Detail-oriented, able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
