DHL eCommerce is seeking a Senior Functional Controller to partner with business leaders and drive financial and operational excellence across assigned functions. This role delivers insights, identifies opportunities, and supports data-driven decision-making.

The ideal candidate has a strong finance background, experience building reporting frameworks, and the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels. Comfortable with SAP, Power BI, SQL, and Python is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Business).
• 10+ years of professional experience in finance or controlling.
• Strong knowledge of accounting and financial principles.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience building financial models and reporting tools.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder skills.
• Ability to drive data-based decisions across functions.

About the Role

DHL eCommerce is seeking a highly analytical and strategic Senior Functional Controller to partner with business leaders and drive financial and operational excellence across assigned functions. This role serves as a trusted business partner, providing meaningful insights into performance, identifying opportunities for improvement, and supporting data-driven decision-making.

The ideal candidate brings a strong finance background, proven experience developing reporting and analytical frameworks, and the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Analysis & Business Partnership

• Analyze, interpret, and communicate operational and financial performance, including volume, revenue, costs, expenses, and investments.
• Act as a strategic finance partner to assigned business functions, providing recommendations that support operational efficiency and financial performance.
• Support informed decision-making through data analysis, forecasting, and financial modeling.
• Develop business cases for investments and present recommendations to Finance leadership.

Planning, Forecasting & Reporting

• Support budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, and target-setting processes.
• Design and enhance management reporting tools, dashboards, and methodologies to improve visibility and accuracy.
• Monitor financial results and performance against established goals and plans.
• Provide functional inputs into company-wide financial planning activities.

Cost Management & Controls

• Develop and monitor cost control and optimization initiatives.
• Review and approve expenditures in accordance with company approval guidelines.
• Implement and enhance operational processes, internal controls, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and financial controls.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, IT, and other departments to ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy.
• Participate in and lead cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives.
• Support audit-related activities and provide financial expertise when needed.
• Promote financial awareness through coaching, training, and stakeholder engagement.
• Support digitalization and automation initiatives that improve reporting efficiency and business insights.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance organizational performance.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• 10+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting and financial principles.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Demonstrated experience building financial models, reporting tools, and analytical frameworks.
• Strong business acumen and ability to drive data-based decisions.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

Preferred

• Master's degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• 5+ years of logistics, transportation, or supply chain experience.
• Experience with SAP, Power BI, SQL, and/or Python.
