Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer, FinTech - focus on Data

Salary up to $170,000 total plus stock options, salary depends on experience, skills and location

REMOTE - working East Coast hours

This is a Full-Stack Developer position (not a Data Engineer) for the migration of a legacy system that is very data-driven. You must love learning modern technology, as you will learn OutSystems (low-code) and work with other modern technologies for API integrations.

You must come from the financial industry, focused on Loans, Debts or Bonds.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Loan Servicing and Data team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, data management, and loan servicing technologies (any experience in FinTech is acceptable.)

We are migrating a legacy system to a specific loan technology platform using OutSystems (low-code) which is a preference if you have it, most importantly you would like to learn it!

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in migrating the current legacy loan system, ensuring seamless data integration.
• Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures for the new loan platform leveraging modern technologies such as APIs (using Kong), automation and observability tools.
• Create and optimize SQL queries to support data analysis and reporting needs.
• Implement and manage APIs to facilitate integration with loan servicing platforms.
• Utilize AWS services to build scalable and secure applications.
• Develop and deploy CI/CD pipelines to streamline the software development process.
• Work with Databricks to process large datasets and provide analytical solutions.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Use GenAI and automation frameworks to streamline development, testing and debugging of data workflows.
• This role will lead the migration, ability to own this from an engineer standpoint from end to end, mentor others and present to senior leadership.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software development and data engineering, preferably in the financial industry.
• Strong programming skills using Python with willingness to learn OutSystems (low-code.)
• Experience with SQL, ETL and data pipeline tools like AWS Glue or Databricks is required.
• Experience with database design.
• Experience with loan servicing systems, fintech, bonds, debt instruments and related data management.
• Familiarity with API development and integration.
• Knowledge of AWS services highly desired.
• Curiosity and experience working with GenAI in a data-driven environment.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Proficiency in modern tech stacks including APIs, automation, observability and CI/CD is required.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and communicate effectively.
• Experience in a senior hands-on development role, leading others as a player/coach.
• Experience with low-code technology like OutSystems highly desired.
