Job summary

TriCom Technical Services is seeking a Sr. Full-Stack Java Engineer for a 12-month contract in Kansas City, MO. The role focuses on building modern Angular (TypeScript) front-ends while adding depth to Java/Spring Boot back-end services and REST APIs.

You will write efficient SQL for PostgreSQL, participate in CI/CD, and ensure code quality and security standards while collaborating with an experienced team.

Sr. Full-Stack Java Engineer

Our client is seeking a senior-level, full-stack Java Engineer to join their software engineering team on a greenfield application build. The current tech stack is Angular 22, Bootstrap 5, Java 25, Spring Boot 4, PostgreSQL, and Snowflake. Most active development is on the front-end, so modern Angular strength is the priority; the existing team is backend-heavy and wants to add depth on the UI side. Engineers on this team are expected to work independently, validate their own work, and operate within established code quality and security standards.

Responsibilities

• Build and enhance Angular (TypeScript) single-page applications as the primary focus of the role.
• Design and develop Java/Spring Boot services and REST APIs.
• Write, tune, and troubleshoot complex SQL against PostgreSQL supporting application functionality.
• Perform dependency and CVE remediation within established SCA and code quality gates.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and CI/CD build and release activities.

Requirements

• Strong modern Angular (recent major versions) and TypeScript SPA development, plus HTML/CSS.
• Strong Java (17+, ideally current) with Spring Boot and JPA/persistence.
• Strong SQL, including relationships, indices, CTEs, transaction management, connection pooling, and query performance tuning.
• Experience with dependency and CVE remediation under SCA/quality gates (Nexus IQ, SonarQube).

Preferred

• PostgreSQL, Snowflake, and Bootstrap 5.
• GitLab and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• TDD with JUnit, Maven, or Gradle.
• Insurance or financial regulatory-data domain experience.

This is a 12-month Contract opportunity with our Kansas City, MO client.
