Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Frontend Engineer with strong expertise in React.js, TypeScript, Next.js, and Kubernetes to design, develop, and maintain scalable, responsive, and high-performance consumer-facing web applications.
- Consumer UI: Build fast, responsive, accessible experiences for home buyers, sellers and renters, such as search, listing details, saved homes and lead forms, as Next.js micro-frontends (web islands).
- Components and design system: Build reusable components and contribute to realtor.com's shared design system and component library.
- Data integration: Consume GraphQL (from a federated supergraph) and REST APIs, and handle errors and loading states.
- Performance and accessibility: Own Core Web Vitals, SEO-friendly rendering and WCAG 2.1 AA compliance.
- Experimentation: Implement A/B tests and analytics tracking.
- Standards: Maintain Storybook, testing, linting and code reviews. Mentor peers, and work with backend engineers on API contracts.
- Ship and monitor: Own your micro-frontend's CI/CD pipeline (CircleCI) and its containerized deployment to Kubernetes (AWS EKS) via Helm and ArgoCD, following the platform team's paved paths and golden templates. Track real-user performance and errors in New Relic.
Must have:
- 4+ years of frontend engineering, with strong React and TypeScript.
- Experience with Next.js or other server-side rendering.
- GraphQL client and REST integration.
- Build tooling (Webpack, Babel or Vite) and state-management patterns.
- Testing with Jest and React Testing Library, plus E2E testing with Playwright or Cypress.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI, GitHub Actions or similar) and containerized deployment (Docker) to Kubernetes (K8s).
- Hands-on Kubernetes (K8s) basics for your own app: reading pod logs, tuning Helm values, checking ArgoCD sync status and rolling back a bad release.
Good to have:
- CSS-in-JS (e.g. styled-components) and design-system contributions.
- Real-estate or marketplace domain experience; React Native.
- Micro-frontends, Nx or Lerna monorepos, Storybook.
- Modernizing legacy frontends; SEO for server-rendered pages.
- Experience working on an internal developer platform / paved-path model (standard Helm charts, service templates, self-service deployments).
Experimentation and analytics tooling (Amplitude, Optimizely).
