Position Summary: Provide strategic leadership and expertise in food technology, focusing on product technical services and quality maintenance. Ensure all tasks are performed safely, efficiently, and accurately to enhance the performance of Corporate Food Technology in Safety, Quality, and Reliability (SQR).

Essential Job Functions:

1. Evaluate and recommend new processes, programs, equipment, and technologies for manufacturing, distribution, quality assurance, or retailing.
2. Lead internal and external teams as a subject matter expert to develop and improve product processes while managing costs and maintaining or enhancing quality.
3. Oversee activities with manufacturing plants and contracted manufacturers, keeping abreast of regulatory and technological changes.
4. Provide leadership in troubleshooting and resolving product and processing issues.
5. Collaborate with plant teams to resolve process differences, improve quality, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
6. Plan and execute projects efficiently, optimizing resources to shorten completion times.
7. Conduct pilot plant development and plant trials for new products and processes.
8. Reformulate products as needed to reduce costs while maintaining or improving quality.
9. Assist with testing techniques and quality assurance procedures.
10. Maintain material specification documents and audit plant operations for quality assurance.
11. Train and mentor Product Development Specialists and coordinate consumer panels with the Sensory Manager.
12. Review product labels for regulatory compliance.
13. Travel as necessary for job duties.
14. Follow policies to produce safe, quality foods meeting regulatory standards.
15. Supervise and evaluate team members, providing feedback and support.
16. Support SQF System development and continuous improvement.
17. Perform all essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in food science, dairy science, bakery science, or related field.
• At least 3 years of progressive experience in the food industry.
• Experience in product development or plant production for complex/high-risk categories.
• Proven skills in project planning, problem solving, and execution.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Previous Food Product Development experience is required. Dairy and Deli experience is a plus.
