Job Description

The position is a Master‑level Technician responsible for the accurate maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles. A technician may work independently or as part of a team, and focuses on customer satisfaction while maintaining cost effectiveness.

Job Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance: change oil, oil filter, fuel filter, transmission flush, and conduct mechanical inspections. Perform light and major repairs, and advanced vehicle diagnostics. Interact directly with customers, demonstrating exceptional interpersonal skills and integrity.

Based on certification levels, perform repairs and maintenance that may include OBD II systems; brake components, tires, tune‑ups, suspension components, aerial lifts, electrical systems, state safety inspections, interior/exterior components, engines, and drive‑line components.

Maintain or repair equipment such as cable trailers and laptop docking stations. Keep the shop area clean and tidy, work in accordance with safety standards, and dispose of all fluids safely and in compliance with regulations.

Create and maintain vehicle history and maintenance records, and fit new vehicles with necessary equipment. Perform complex repairs, advanced diagnostics, design, and fabrication, including welding when required.

Coordinate with vendors for parts and repairs, and provide roadside assistance as needed. Troubleshoot and repair complex hydraulic systems, generators, electrical systems, hybrids, and on‑board computer systems to ensure truck availability.

Conduct diagnostics and repairs across a wide variety of systems: brakes, drivability, emissions, steering/suspension, electrical, state safety, HVAC, major engine, and hydraulics. Apply medium/heavy truck experience, boom/hydraulic, electrical, and complex repair skills.

Perform diesel and transmission repairs. Intervene on multiple applications — from light‑duty to Class A‑heavy trucks, mechanical equipment, machinery, passenger vehicles, and more.

Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Job Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of related experience. Alternate qualifications: a higher degree or certification in a related field and 3 years of experience, or 7 years of experience. Current or attainable Master Level ASE certification is preferred. Candidates must continue training to maintain ASE status and adapt to evolving technology and fleet changes.

Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain and maintain a Driver Qualification File. Must be able to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmissions, work safely in a fast‑paced environment, and frequently stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear. Must also stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, climb, and lift up to 75 pounds.

Must possess vision abilities: close, distance, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Detail orientation is required. Diesel and transmission experience are preferred.

Must have knowledge of DOT and CDL requirements for medium and heavy truck applications, and must be able to obtain a Class A or B Operator’s License if required.

A current valid DOT medical card with more than four months remaining may be submitted in lieu of a DOT physical. If four months or less remain, a DOT physical is required.

Compensation

Hourly pay rate ranges from $32.31 to $48.46, varying based on location and candidate qualifications. The position may be eligible for additional compensation, including commission and incentive programs.

Benefits

Employees receive a minimum of 6.67 hours of paid time off per month and seven paid holidays each year. Additional leave options include bereavement, voting, jury duty, volunteer, military, and parental leave.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship required.
