Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Master Level Technician to deliver expert maintenance and repairs for a range of fleet vehicles, from light duties to heavy trucks. You will perform diagnostics, conduct preventive maintenance, interact with customers, and coordinate with vendors for parts to ensure efficient service and reliability.

The ideal candidate has ASE Master certification, diesel repair experience, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment while lifting up to 75 pounds and

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED and 5 years’ experience in a related field.
  • Master Level ASE certification preferred.
  • Maintain ASE status and keep up with fleet changes.
  • Valid state driver’s license and ability to obtain Driver Qualification File.
  • Ability to drive vehicles with standard/automatic transmission.
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to enter/exit vehicles frequently.
  • Vision, hearing, and physical capabilities; lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Diesel experience preferred and multi-application expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, oil changes, filters, and inspections.
  • Carry out light and major repairs and advanced diagnostics.
  • Interact with customers with professionalism and integrity.
  • Repair diverse systems including brakes, electrical, transmissions, and hydraulics.
  • Maintain vehicle history and may up-fit vehicles with equipment.
  • Coordinate with vendors for parts; provide roadside assistance as needed.
  • Ensure safety standards and proper fluid disposal.
  • Keep shop clean and organized; adhere to DOT/CDL requirements.

Job Description:

This position is a Master-level Technician who provides a high skill level foraccuratevehicle maintenance and repairs of fleet vehicles with a focus on exceptional customer satisfaction in a cost-effective manner. A Technician may work independently or in a team environment.

Job Responsibilities:

Perform Preventive Maintenance: change oil, oil filter, fuel filter, transmission flush, and inspection of vehicle for mechanical deficiencies. Perform light and major repairs. Perform advanced vehicle diagnostics. Will have direct interaction with customers and display exceptional interpersonal skills while driving service center’s performance with the highest integrity and trust.

Based upon certification levels, performvarious repairs andmaintenance whichmay include: OBD II systems, brake components, tires, tune-ups, suspension components, aerial lifts, electrical systems, State Safety Inspections, interior/exterior components, engine, and drive line components, etc.

Maymaintain/repair equipment. (Cable trailers, laptop docking stations, etc.)

Keepshoparea clean and tidy. Perform workin accordance withsafety standards. Dispose of all fluids in a safe manner andin accordance withall regulations.

Create andmaintainsvehicle history and maintenance records. May up-fit new vehicles with necessary equipment.

Performs more complex repairs, advanced diagnostics, design, and fabrication.

Assures prompt repairs by interfacing and coordinating with vendors for parts and repairs. Mayperformroadsideassistanceas needed.

Provides custom equipment when needed by engaging in equipment design and moderate fabrication tasks including welding.

Assures availability of specialized trucks by troubleshooting and repairing complex hydraulic systems, generators and electrical systems, hybrids, and on-board computer systems.

Responsible for the efficient diagnosis, repair, and replacement of general automotive parts and accessories. A Technician III will conduct a wide variety of diagnoses and repairs; including but not limited to brakes, drivability, emissions, steering/suspension, electrical, state safety and emissions testing, maintenance services, HVAC, major engine, and hydraulics.

Has medium/heavy truck experience, booms/hydraulics, electrical,any complexrepairs, design, and fabrication.

Skilledondiesel and transmission repairs.

Willpossessadvanced knowledge and advanced troubleshooting skills to resolve complex repairs.

Master level Technicians must be skilled and able to work on multiple applications, from Light-Duty to Class A-Heavy Trucks, Mechanical Equipment, Machinery, Passenger Vehicles, and more.

Perform otherduties asassigned by management.

Job Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED and 5 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as anyleveldegree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline and 3 years’ experience; or 7 years’ experience in a related field.
  • Currentlypossessor be able toattainMaster Level ASE certificationpreferred.
  • Mustcontinue training tomaintaincurrent A.S.E. status and to meet with technology and fleet changes as they occur.
  • Safe drivers needed; valid driver’s licenserequired.Candidatemust hold a valid state-of-residence driver’s license, be able to obtain andmaintaintheir Driver Qualification File.
  • Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to enter and exit vehiclesfrequently.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear. Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend,squatand climb.
  • Vision abilitiesrequiredinclude close, distance and color vision, depthperceptionand ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds (tools, equipment).
  • Transmission experiencepreferred.
  • Diesel experience preferred.
  • Master level Technicians must be versed to work on multipleapplicationfrom Light-Duty to Class A-Heavy Trucks, Mechanical Equipment, Machinery, Passenger Vehicles, and more.
  • Requires extensive training and certification accompanied with a preferred 5-10 years of hands-on diesel repair experience.
  • Must have a working knowledge of DOT and CDL requirements for medium and heavy truck applications.
  • Must be able to obtain Class A or B Operator’s License ifrequired.
  • A current and valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) monthsremaininguntil itsexpirationmay besubmittedinleuof a DOT physical. If the DOT medical card has four (4) months orless ofvalidityremaining, a DOT physical will berequired.
