Burlington Stores, Inc. is seeking an Inventory Control Analyst to support daily and monthly analytical activities for accounting operations related to inventory. You will help maintain stock ledger accuracy, perform valuation and margin analyses, and coordinate with auditors across DCs and stores.

The role emphasizes data analytics, cross-functional collaboration with IT, Finance, and Operations, and strong Excel/Power BI skills to drive reporting improvements and close processes.

Qualifications

• Education in accounting/finance with professional credentials preferred (CPA/CMA/MBA).

• Develop and maintain KPI reporting and Monthly Reporting Metrics.
• Ensure accuracy of stock ledger/inventory data and related controls.

Position Overview• This position requires a highly motivated candidate with strong analytical, process management, quantitative, and technical skills to aid in the department’s objectives.• Responsible for the daily and monthly financial / operational analytical support of accounting operations as it relates to the Inventory Control Department, as well as being a liaison to all operational and corporate departments.• Support an accurate and timely monthly close process, forecast, reporting, business objectives, strategic goals and initiatives.• Maintain accuracy of all stock ledger/inventory data, its updates and all related controls.• Perform Merchandise Inventory Valuation, Gross Margin and Cost Analysis.• Assist Loss Prevention and Store Operations in coordination of physical inventories across the organization’s Distribution Centers and Stores.• Coordination with internal and external auditors for periodic reviews and SOX compliance, support all corporate, store and DC inventory flows and initiatives.• Assist in the preparation of client assistance deliverables for quarterly and annual financial statement audits, as well as in other special projects.A Day in the LifeDevelop and maintain partner relationships with business units and corporate stakeholders (IT, Shortage Control, Asset Protection, Merchandising, Finance, DC, Logistics, etc.)Seek out process efficiencies and improvementsCreate Value-added reporting including KPI’s and Monthly Reporting MetricsDemonstrate a good understanding and knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls and apply them to daily functionsCollaboratively work with other business partnersResponsible for timely and accurate financial close responsibilities, including inventory valuation, margin analysis, general ledger reconciliation and recording of inventory transfers and receiptsEnsure completeness and accuracy of inventory transactions for Stores, DC’s and fulfillment operations (includes sales, markdowns, transfers, claims, receipts, shipments, and adjustments)Assist in Physical Inventory Reconciliations and analysis in addition to coordinate timing, execution and reporting of physical inventory as required.Provide shrink reporting for business units as requiredEnsure compliance with existing and develop/document new policies and procedures governing stock ledger maintenance and control. Partner with Corporate Finance to ensure that policies are in accordance with internal accounting practices and GAAP.Work closely with internal and external auditors as needed to satisfy audit review requirements and Sarbanes Oxley compliance.You'll Come WithEducation and Qualifications:Education: Four-year accounting/finance degree required, CPA, CMA, or MBA a plus.Licenses/Certification/Registration: N/AExperience: 2-4 years related work experience.Inventory / accounting background, concentration in data analytics and reporting. Retail experience preferred.Skills and Abilities:Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.Passion for data, analytics and pushing business innovation.Demonstrated understanding of the inventory flow and inventory accounting policies.Skilled at financial analysis, recognizing trends and communicating results.Excellent written and verbal communication with emphasis on strong interpersonal skills.Experience working with multiple levels of management and in cross-functional environments.Proven ability to work both independently and cross-functionally to drive projects to completion.Ability to adapt to changing business environmentAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyAdvanced Excel skills.
