Job summary

The Chubb Global Services group is seeking a Financial Reporting leader to manage a three-person team handling bordereau submissions and related GL activity in a multinational environment. You will collaborate with internal management and Chubb Finance to resolve issues and support ad hoc requests.

Key responsibilities include ensuring accurate subledger and GL reconciliations, driving process improvements, and providing data for audits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • CPA or MBA designation preferred but not required.
  • 4–6 years accounting and/or treasury experience in insurance.
  • Experience communicating with management at multiple levels.
  • Familiarity with intercompany accounting and reinsurance is preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Access, Visio).
  • Ability to analyze and improve financial processes in a multinational setting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of 3 responsible for bordereau submissions and allocations.
  • Assist in subledger and general ledger activity including reconciliations.
  • Coordinate with finance and operations to fulfill Global Services requests.
  • Research and resolve accounting issues in a timely manner.
  • Analyze monthly GL data to ensure proper accounting procedures.
  • Design and execute project plans to improve processes.
  • Provide timely responses to internal and external audit teams.
  • Maintain internal controls; document and test them regularly.
  • Respond to data requests; work with relational databases and queries.
  • Provide technical support to business and operations teams as needed.

Job description

The Chubb Global Services (CGS) group focuses on providing superior clients services to Chubbs' multinational business for the entire suite of Chubb products. The CGS Finance group has overarching responsibility for global money movement, billing and collections of reinsurance and deductibles, reporting and overall multinational guidance and strategy.

Reporting Relationship

The role will report to Chubb Global Services Assistance Vice President of Financial Reporting with the understanding that the individual will be required to communicate directly with internal management and other interdepartmental groups such as Chubb Home Office Finance to resolve issues and provide ad hoc support when requested.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of 3 responsible for the assumption and allocation of bordereau business in which Chubb offices submit premium, loss and brokerage balances to affiliated entities
  • Prepare Assist in the managing of subledger and related general ledger activity and balances including in depth account reconciliations
  • Interact with operational and financial departments throughout Chubb to ensure all requests surrounding Global Services Finance are met
  • Research and drive timely resolutions of accounting issues
  • Analyze monthly GL accounting package, by reviewing and verifying accuracy of data to ensure proper accounting procedures are being followed.
  • Design, implement and execute project plans to improve critical areas' processes and procedures
  • Provide accurate and timely responses to both internal and external audit teams
  • Ensure good internal controls are put in place, documented and periodically tested
  • Respond to and provide data requests. Required is an understanding of relational database structures and use of query tools.
  • Provide technical support to business and operations groups when needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance.

    o C.P.A or M.B.A designation preferred but not required.

  • 4 to 6 years accounting/ insurance industry and/ or treasury experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Experience with accounting applications such as PeopleSoft
  • Excellent communications skills, as well as demonstrated ability to persuade, negotiate and interface with various levels of internal and external management within a global environment.
  • Effective problem solving and analytical ability, as well as strong financial background.
  • Reinsurance and intercompany experience preferred
  • Multinational business experience preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively on a team to understand, develop and refine financial and operational processes.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality, independent and highly organized.
  • Advanced skill level in Microsoft products is required (Excel, Visio, Access, etc.).
