Job summary

Abbott Diabetes Care is seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst to support Global Third-Party Manufacturing (TPM) Operations in Alameda, CA.

You will partner with finance, operations, engineering, and manufacturing to deliver financial insights that drive performance and strategic decisions. In this highly visible onsite role, you will strengthen forecasting accuracy, support cost optimization initiatives, and help advance Abbott’s mission of improving lives for people with diabetes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 3+ years FP&A, accounting, corporate finance, or related experience.
• Experience forecasting, budgeting, variance analyses, and management reporting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data interpretation.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Consolidate and analyze Global TPM financial results (P&L, balance sheet, capital reporting).
• Prepare month-end close deliverables, variance analyses, financial commentary, and forecast submissions.
• Support quarterly business reviews, annual planning processes, and long-range strategic financial plans.
• Partner with manufacturing sites to support standard cost setting and variance analysis.
• Analyze and forecast Gross Margin Initiatives (GMI) and integrate into projections.
• Collaborate with TPM Operations and Engineering on capital and project expense forecasts.
• Conduct monthly reviews of capital and project spending, highlighting risks and opportunities.
• Coordinate fixed asset processes with operations and COE teams.
• Identify cost savings, process improvements, and operational efficiencies.
• Deliver actionable financial insights and ad hoc analyses for decision-making.

The Opportunity

Join Abbott Diabetes Care as a Sr. Financial Analyst supporting Global Third-Party Manufacturing (TPM) Operations. This is an onsite opportunity based in Alameda, California, where you will partner with finance, operations, engineering, and manufacturing teams to deliver financial insights that support business performance and strategic decision-making. In this highly visible role, you will drive forecasting accuracy, support cost optimization initiatives, and help advance Abbott’s mission of improving the lives of people living with diabetes.

What You’ll Work On

• Consolidate and analyze Global TPM financial results, including P&L, balance sheet, and capital reporting.
• Prepare month-end close deliverables, variance analyses, financial commentary, and forecast submissions.
• Support quarterly business reviews, annual planning processes, and long-range strategic financial plans.
• Partner with manufacturing sites to support standard cost setting activities and cost variance analysis.
• Analyze and forecast Gross Margin Initiatives (GMI) and ensure accurate incorporation into financial projections.
• Collaborate with TPM Operations and Engineering teams to develop capital and project expense forecasts.
• Conduct monthly reviews of capital and project spending, highlighting risks, opportunities, and performance trends to business leaders.
• Coordinate and support fixed asset processes in partnership with operations and center of excellence teams.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and operational efficiencies.
• Deliver actionable financial insights and perform ad hoc analyses to support business decision-making.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), accounting, corporate finance, or a related discipline.
• Experience preparing financial forecasts, budgets, variance analyses, and management reporting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of financial analysis, reporting processes, and internal controls.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of FP&A or accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with product costing, standard costing, or manufacturing finance.
• SAP or other ERP system experience.
• Experience supporting capital planning, project expense tracking, and fixed asset management.
• Demonstrated ability to influence business partners and effectively present financial insights to leadership.
• Experience identifying and implementing process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
• Strong data analytics capabilities and proficiency translating data into actionable recommendations.
• Experience supporting global operations or working within a complex, matrixed organization.

The base pay for this position is $90,000.00 – $180,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
