Job summary

Abbott in Lake County, IL is seeking a Financial Analyst to bolster Global Procurement finance operations. You will support month-end close, perform variance analysis, and develop forecasts for payroll and key projects.

The role reports to the FP&A Manager, requires 2–4 years of FP&A experience, a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, and proficiency in Excel, Hyperion Essbase, and SAP. Base pay ranges from $61,300 to $122,700, with location-based variations.

• 2–4 years experience in financial planning, analysis and accounting.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, variance analysis skills, accuracy and attention to detail.

The Opportunity

We have an immediate opportunity for a Financial Analyst in our Lake County, Abbott Park, IL location.

What You’ll Work On

• This position supports Global Procurement and reports to the Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis.
• Support month end close and LBE processes. Complete variance analysis and commentary for LBE and month end submissions.
• Develop forecasts and prepare supporting analytics for key budget items such as payroll and other key projects.
• Complete consolidations and reporting of monthly actuals and LBE.
• Identify risks and opportunities and work with leadership team to bring insights forward.
• Provide ad hoc analysis to support key projects or other related activities as required.
• Assist with analysis and preparation of materials for the annual Plan for presentation to Vice President, Global Procurement, Corporate Controller and CFO.
• Drive continuous improvements and simplifications in financial and business processes.
• Work both independently and in groups in a variety of situations requiring analytical and critical thinking skills.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
• 2-4 years experience in financial planning, analysis and accounting.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, variance analysis skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills; ability to synthesize complex, technical issues and summarize with clarity.
• Ability to manage many competing priorities and execute in a pressurized environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficient with financial modeling, systems, and other tools including Excel, Hyperion Essbase and SAP.
