With over 10,000 video systems under management worldwide – more than any other video communications service provider – Yorktel has the proven expertise and global reach to deliver enterprise-quality visual communications.

Yorktel is currently seeking a Sr. Field Engineer who will be focused on a fast-paced high-volume production and engineering department and staff. The Sr. Field Engineer is responsible for meeting project commitments (both financial and non-financial) and the overall service of external customers. Responsibilities include strategic or operational planning within the field engineering departments, monitoring project performance, financial analysis including job cost monitoring and reporting, staff training, and adherence to standard operating practices and processes.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  1. Troubleshoot issues, make recommendations, and ensure problem resolution with the assigned team.
  2. Communicate complex technical issues effectively and respond to detailed inquiries.
  3. Handle and protect confidential information, exercising discretion and judgment.
  4. Provide technical support to the sales team promptly and comprehensively.
  5. Interface with clients and job sites to document requirements and conditions.
  6. Design customer solutions based on requirements and site conditions.
  7. Collaborate with clients, architects, and staff throughout design and delivery processes.
  8. Develop Statements of Work based on system design and client needs.
  9. Create system design diagrams, specifications, and operational narratives.
  10. Estimate job costs accurately.
  11. Respond to customer RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs with technical proposals.
  12. Maintain thorough project documentation and records.
  13. Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  14. Manage multiple system design projects to ensure timely and within-budget completion.
  15. Develop and adhere to technical standards and practices.
  16. Interpret technical specifications and architectural diagrams correctly.
  17. Create Scope of Work documents describing solutions, capabilities, and limitations.
  18. Present technical solutions to executive audiences.
  19. Participate in transition activities from pre-sales to implementation.
  20. Test solutions in lab environments to emulate live conditions.
  21. Analyze customer networks for visual communications needs.
  22. Support unique projects and troubleshoot technical issues involving network and AV equipment.
  23. Collaborate with manufacturers and vendors on current and future technologies.
  24. Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Discretion handling confidential information.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for technical issues.
  • Ability to develop system designs and cost estimates.
  • Proficiency in technical documentation and project management.
  • Effective coordination and time management across projects.
  • Knowledge of company policies and technical standards.
  • Proficiency in creating SOW documents and technical presentations.
  • Experience in pre-sales and implementation transitions.
  • Proficiency in network analysis and testing environments.
  • Strong understanding of audiovisual and videoconferencing products.
  • Knowledge of service standards for video and audio conferencing.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Visio, or similar tools.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of video network infrastructure commissioning.
  • Polycom/Tandberg/Cisco certifications desirable (TCE/CVE).
  • InfoComm CTS certification (Advanced CTS-D desirable).
  • Willingness to pursue further training.
  • High professionalism, integrity, and customer service skills.

Education & Experience:

  • Degree in a related field preferred but not required.
  • Relevant certifications helpful.
  • Experience with audiovisual equipment, design, installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience leading technicians and managing projects.
  • Strong communication skills and client engagement experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Potential weekend/night work and travel.
  • Valid passport and driver’s license required.
  • Willing to undergo background and security checks.
