Job summary

Mitsubishi Electric US, Inc. seeks an experienced engineer to provide on-site and remote technical support for robot-based products, PLCs, servo and motion control systems. You will train customers, partners, and MEUS-IAD staff, serve as SME, and develop application notes and training materials.

Under minimum supervision, provide technical support for robot products and applications to key accounts, system integration partners, and internal and external sales channel personnel. May also develop and/or deliver technical training to customers, channel and system integration partners and MEUS-IAD personnel on all Mitsubishi products.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide technical support for robot-based products (PLC, Servo, and Motion Control) and applications to sales personnel focusing on key/target accounts. May also develop and/or deliver technical training to customers, distributors and MEUS-IAD personnel on all Mitsubishi products.

Provide on-site application engineering and product consulting on Robots.

Serve as the escalated technical resource (subject matter expert [SME]) on robot products and applications.

Maintain technical documents and documentation on MEUS-IAD products, as assigned.

Develop technical/application notes where applicable, detailing start-up procedures for new products.

Maintain current knowledge of new products and applications, through self-study, hands-on testing of demo units, and seminar attendance.

Provide technical product and solution training to customers, distributors, and MEUS-IAD personnel on Mitsubishi products. Actively identify opportunities for custom training classes.

Deliver presentations to external organizations or entities.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Travel Requirements

Up to 50% travel within the U.S.

Essential Education, Skills, and Experience:

BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent experience.

5 + years of application experience with robot applications and products.

Experience with Robot, PLC, VFD, HMI, Servo, Motion Control, CNC and Control Networks and other industrial automation applications.

Ability to develop and maintain in-depth, up-to-date technical knowledge, including the latest MEUS-IAD products, and to serve as escalated technical resource (subject matter expert [SME]).

Technical writing skills.

Ability to operate effectively as part of a team.

Professional, patient, positive, confident communication style and attitude.

Ability to write and perform technical product and solution training for groups.

Organization skills, i.e. for documents, demos, work area, and time management.

Beneficial Education, Skills, and Experience

Strong background with Robots.

Experience with Robot Programming software and Simulation environments.

Experience with CAD based application software (AutoCAD).

Experience with SolidWorks and developing application simulations.

Additional background in PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, industrial networking and IEC 1131 programming standards is preferred.

Some experience with PC hardware and software required with specific experience in industrial applications is preferred.

Ability to discuss customer application requirements on the phone or in person.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $111,200/yr and $152,900/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including commissions based on achieving individual performance and/or sales metrics, incentive compensation and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these additional compensation and benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
