This position will be remote with a strong preference to be hired in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
Optiv + ClearShark is looking for a Sr. Federal Compliance Consultant to join the Federal Advisory team. This position focuses on working with both federal and commercial clients in cybersecurity compliance. Responsibilities include leading advisory engagements, developing advisory services, acting as a thought leader, and supporting sales activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead federal compliance engagements, supporting clients' business improvements.
- Manage engagements according to scope and standards.
- Lead and mentor junior consultants on projects.
- Engage with clients to understand requirements, policies, and compliance posture.
- Develop compliance strategies and roadmaps with clients.
- Assess compliance status and recommend remediation actions.
- Address engagement issues promptly and escalate when necessary.
- Produce high-quality deliverables tailored to client needs.
- Review and improve junior consultants’ work.
Engagement Management
- Plan and monitor engagement activities, resources, and risks.
- Report on engagement status and escalate issues.
- Manage timecards and expenses, review junior staff submissions.
Client Development & Sales
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and sales teams.
- Lead pre-sales discussions and provide sales training on services.
- Gather client and sales feedback for service improvement.
Talent Development & Thought Leadership
- Maintain and seek relevant certifications.
- Mentor junior staff and identify training opportunities.
- Contribute to thought leadership through blogs, social media, and panels.
- Stay updated on federal compliance changes and develop new or updated offerings.
Qualifications
- Ability to obtain Top Secret clearance preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 7-10 years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of identity management, incident response, networking security, zero trust.
- Experience in classified environments and federal compliance (FAR, DFARs, RMF, CUI, CMMC).
- Understanding of FedRAMP and IL constructs.
- Cybersecurity assessment experience highly desirable.
- Certifications like CISA, CISSP, CMMC RP/RPA/CCA/CCP are highly desirable.
- Leadership, communication, problem-solving skills, and ability to travel up to 25%.
Salary Range
$134,600 - $184,500 annually, based on various factors. Eligible for bonuses. Includes benefits.
