Job description

Job Summary:

The Senior Manager Asset Management, Maintenance and Facilities is responsible for optimizing the lifecycle, performance, and reliability of critical systems, equipment, and infrastructure that support site operations and enable execution of the overall business strategy. This role plays a key part in aligning asset management practices with organizational goals, ensuring both strategic planning and operational integrity are upheld.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement asset lifecycle strategies to optimize performance, cost-efficiency, and longevity of equipment and infrastructure.
  2. Develop and manage the full lifecycle of assigned assets—from acquisition and deployment to maintenance and decommissioning—in alignment with the Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP). Responsibilities include evaluating the need for new equipment, estimating associated costs, and planning for upgrades or replacements based on asset performance and technological advancements, as outlined in the Asset Management Plan (AMP). Ensure AMPs are regularly updated and consistently followed. Serve as the client and technical stakeholder for relevant projects, ensuring that designs and deliverables meet the requirements defined in both the SAMP and AMP.
  3. Collect and analyze data from various sources, such as, but not limited to: operational data (SCADA, BMS), alarms (SCADA, BMS), corrective maintenance (CM) statistics (CMMS/EAM), condition monitoring (PM/CM reports) and energy consumption follow-up.
  4. Optimize preventive maintenance activities and schedules to extend asset lifespan and ensure consistent technical reliability. Where applicable, implement predictive, data-driven maintenance strategies—such as condition monitoring—to anticipate and address potential failures before they occur.
  5. Manage inventory levels to ensure critical parts are available while effectively balancing risk, cost, and supply chain considerations.
  6. Ensure all technical assets comply with standards and undergo regular inspections and maintenance to maintain compliance.
  7. Plan lifecycle management investments, including major repairs, replacements, and upgrades, aligning them with the production site’s financial objectives. When necessary, develop individual business cases. This also involves managing investment projects, ensuring alignment with competencies, schedules, and resource planning.
  8. Ensure that staff have the necessary skills and knowledge to operate and maintain technical assets. In collaboration with internal stakeholders (e.g., Production, Process & Equipment), oversee training programs, document standard operating procedures, and promote a culture of asset care. Stay informed about emerging technologies in the field.
  9. Direct facility-related capital projects, renovations, and space planning in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  10. Lead and develop a high-performing team of technicians, and facilities professionals.
  11. Drive continuous improvement and implement best practices in asset reliability, maintenance planning, and facility management.
  12. Maintain audit readiness and support inspections from regulatory bodies.
  13. Ensure all systems and activities comply with applicable health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications:

  • Required Education: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial), Facilities Management, or a related technical field.
