Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Facilities Sr. Manager to oversee operations across approximately 17 client sites totaling about 5.9 million square feet in the Northeast portfolio. Typical hours are 7a–5p EST with on-call duties and travel between sites by car.

You will lead a team, manage capital projects, and drive efficiency while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. Qualified candidates have 5–8 years in facilities management, leadership of 12+ staff, and a background in aerospace/defense

About The Role

As a CBRE Facilities Sr. Manager, you will manage many functions of building operations and maintenance for a facility, campus, or portfolio of buildings. This role will be supporting approximately 17 different client sites all throughout their NE portfolio, with a total square footage of approximately 5.9 million square feet. Typical working hours for this role will be 7a to 5p EST, with on-call requirements to be expected. Qualified applicants will have an extensive background in commercial facilities management (preferably in the aerospace/defense industry), managing 12+ direct reports and be comfortable with travel to the different sites (by car).

What You’ll Do
  • Provide formal supervision to employees. Track the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
  • Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.
  • Coordinate and manage facility repairs and maintenance by working with technicians, vendors, and contractors.
  • Maintain positive client relationships and conduct meetings on unresolved facility issues.
  • Prepare and manage large and high-profile capital projects, operating budgets, and variance reports.
  • Perform facility inspections quality assurance following local, state, and federal regulations. Suggest and implement operational efficiencies, repairs, and upgrade opportunities.
  • Create environmental health and safety procedures for facilities.
  • Develop vendor relationships and oversee invoicing procedures. Review and approve purchase orders for the procurement of parts, services, and labor for projects.
  • Apply a broad knowledge of the business, own discipline, and how own discipline integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Influence others to adopt a different point of view while being guided by policies and departmental plans.
  • Identify and solve technical and operational problems of complexity.
  • Understand and recognize the broader impact across the department.
  • Improve and change existing methods, processes, and standards within job discipline.
What You’ll Need
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred with 5 - 8 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Valid driver’s license required. Facility Management certification preferred.
  • Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.
  • Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems.
  • Leadership skills to motivate the team to achieve broad operational targets with impacts on own job discipline, multiple job disciplines, and department.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Extensive organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset.
  • Intermediate math skills. Ability to calculate complicated figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the position is $125000 annually and the maximum salary for the position is $145000 annually. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on their skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
