This role is based in DeSoto, Texas and the incumbent will provide Facility Engineering technical support. The incumbent must be a critical thinker and be comfortable operating in a dynamic manufacturing environment supporting multiple buildings, 24/7 operations, multiple engineering disciplines and complex equipment.

This position is accountable for preparing and implementing schedules, estimates, and coordinating facility projects in relation to the installation, relocation, and modification of existing facility and test cell systems, equipment, and operational capabilities. Assists with the design of facility, test cell, and building equipment and the preparation of engineering drawings and specifications. Schedules and coordinates work of outside contractors and vendors to ensure adherence to specifications, building codes, and project completion schedules. Provides creative and innovative solutions to difficult engineering problems in the areas of electrical and mechanical, and other Facility projects requiring substantial analytical skills. Prepares project estimates, schedules, and purchase requisitions and assists with facility and test cell expansion planning, repairs, and rehabilitation.

What you will do:

This position supports all aspects of Maintenance and Facilities with the priorities and agenda set forth by Facilities Leadership.

Interacts with different levels of inter-organizational personnel, vendors, and consultants. May represent the company in meetings with governmental and public utility authorities that relate to construction codes, safety policies and regulations, OSHA, environmental and utility services.

Strong customer interaction skills, ability to identify and solve problems independently and strong computer literacy are critical for success. Managing a wide variety of activities, programs, and projects with a sense of urgency and with attention to detail is also expected. Working in a team environment is critical and providing direction to others with different cultural and technical backgrounds is necessary for success.

This position directly reports to the Facility Operations and Planning Manager.

  • Project management experience and capital planning.
  • Advanced computer skills; Excel reports/charting, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, MS Project, MS Teams and SharePoint
  • Knowledgeable in 6 Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles

$112,704.00 - $169,056.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
