Role Overview

Caterpillar is seeking a Facilities Technician in Sanford, NC. In this role, you will support the implementation and sustainability of shop and grounds improvements for the Sanford Product Design and Endurance area.

Responsibilities

• You will be a key player in large facilities projects and the leader on smaller scale facilities projects.
• You will build relationships with and carry out work with external contractors and internal teams to improve facilities.
• You will create standard work for shop and/or endurance activities to create a safer work environment.
• You will serve as first line of support for building service problems and work requests.
• You will assist facility engineers and support maintenance and other related departments.
• You will demonstrate knowledge of and the ability to carry out strategies and tasks that support the mission and goals of the leader and the organization.

Qualifications

• Collaborating: Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
• Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
• Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
• Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.

Preferred Experience

• Recent forklift experience.
• SSL and CTL operation experience.
• Use of AutoCAD 2D modeling for floor plans.
• Experience in a mechanic shop and/or fabrication shop.
• Experience managing inventory.
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and/or Excel.
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently to move projects forward.
• Experience with creating and implementing standard work.

Compensation

Salary range: $71,040.00 – $106,440.00. Compensation and benefits offered may vary based on location, job level, and experience.
