Job summary

Bureau of Water and Wastewater Estimating — B is seeking an experienced Estimator to pursue and plan water and wastewater infrastructure projects in the United States. You will develop accurate estimates, perform quantity takeoffs, and coordinate with operations from bid through handoff.

Ideal candidates will understand water/wastewater construction, self-performed work, and have strong cost analysis and planning skills, with proficiency in HCSS, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, and On-Screen Takeoff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Experience estimating water/wastewater construction projects.
• Experience with self-performed structural concrete and/or heavy civil construction.
• Strong reading of plans, specs, and contract documents.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, process piping, and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for self-performed labor, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals and ensure scope coverage.
• Evaluate phasing, staging, logistics, constructability, and sequencing of projects.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
• Identify risks, opportunities, VE ideas, and cost-saving strategies.
• Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management.
• Prepare detailed project budgets and lead handoffs to the project team.
• Support subcontractor and supplier buyout after award.
• Partner with operations to set projects up for successful execution.

You'll play a key role in pursuing and planning water and wastewater infrastructure projects, developing accurate, competitive estimates and partnering closely with operations and project management from bid through project handoff.

We're looking for someone who understands water/wastewater construction and self-performed work and can evaluate scope, constructability, risk, and cost—not just perform takeoffs.

What You'll Do:

What You Bring:

• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
