Job summary

B in San Antonio, Texas, is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to develop accurate, competitive estimates from bid through handoff. You will analyze scope, design constructability, risk, and cost for water and wastewater projects.

You will prepare detailed budgets for facilities, pump stations, and piping, perform takeoffs, and collaborate with operations to set projects up for successful execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Experience estimating water/wastewater construction projects.
• Experience with self-performed structural concrete/heavy civil construction.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong quantity takeoff, cost analysis, and scope review skills.
• Experience with estimating software: HCSS, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater facilities, pump stations, process piping, and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop pricing for self-performed labor, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals and ensure scope coverage.
• Evaluate project phasing, staging, logistics, constructability, and sequencing.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
• Identify project risks, opportunities, value-engineering ideas, and cost-saving strategies.
• Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management.
• Prepare detailed project budgets and lead estimating-to-project-team handoffs.
• Support subcontractor and supplier buyout following award.
• Partner with operations and project teams to help set projects up for successful execution.

You'll play a key role in pursuing and planning water and wastewater infrastructure projects, developing accurate, competitive estimates and partnering closely with operations and project management from bid through project handoff.

• Strong quantity takeoff, cost analysis, and scope review skills.
