Job summary

Flowtec Construction in Chicago is seeking a Senior Estimator with 7+ years of commercial construction estimating experience to lead bids for high-end interior projects.

You will review drawings and specs, develop budgets, and coordinate with architects, engineers, owners, and project teams through preconstruction and buyout. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of tenant build-outs, subcontractor pricing, and means and methods, with excellent communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Strong background in commercial interiors/tenant build-outs.
• Experience with high-end finishes and complex interior scopes.
• Strong understanding of subcontractor scopes, pricing, and Chicago construction costs.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and materials.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Experience working through the full preconstruction process.

Responsibilities

• Identify value-engineering opportunities and potential project risks.

• Assist with subcontractor scope reviews, negotiations, and buyout.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and field teams to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to construction.
• Manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

A well-established Chicago general contractor specializing in commercial interiors and high-end interior construction is looking to add a Senior Estimator to their growing team.

This is an opportunity to join a company with a long-standing presence in the Chicago market and a strong portfolio of office, corporate, higher education, hospitality, retail, and other commercial interior projects.
