The Sr. Equipment Deployment Technician is responsible for acquiring, receiving, shipping, testing, decommissioning, and the configuration of all Point of Sale (POS) equipment for 800+ ACE Cash Express store locations. This role is additionally responsible for assisting the Supervisor of Deployment with the training of new temporary and full-time Equipment Deployment Technicians, as well as ensuring compliance with legal/compliance/regulatory requirements for the safe handling, provisioning, and decommission of electronic products.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Configure and deploy POS equipment to ACE Cash Express store locations, to include computers, monitors, peripherals, receipt printers, check scanners, multi-function printers, battery backup systems, pin pads, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and repair POS equipment returned from ACE Cash Express store locations, including repair and replacement of internal system components
  • Lifecycle management for all POS equipment used at ACE Cash Express store locations. To include asset monitoring/tracking, inventory allocation, decommission, RMA, recycle, etc.
  • Maintenance, reconciliation, and cadenced auditing of POS hardware inventory ledgers
  • Prepare written materials (procedures, system level documentation, reports, memos, letters, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information
  • Consult with IT Management and other departments as needed
  • Ensure proper notification to field operations and business stakeholders for upcoming services and shipments to/from ACE Cash Express store locations
  • Track and monitor shipments to/from ACE Cash Express store locations and external vendors/channel partners
  • Serve as the first escalation point for Equipment Deployment Technicians, and aid them in remediating complex issues
  • Assist in the training and onboarding of new Equipment Deployment Technicians as needed
  • Assist on strategic project deliverable work as needed
  • Coordinate with outside vendors and channel partners for select services: to include warranty repair, RMA, auto-toner, etc.
  • Proactive thought process and communication.
  • Critical thinking and analytical troubleshooting.
  • Aptitude and desire to learn new technologies.
  • Strong organization and note taking skills.
  • Strong verbal/written communication, time management, phone etiquette, and conflict resolution skills.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Two years of technical training or equivalent experience with Intel-based PC hardware and/or two years of relevant POS experience is preferred
  • Experience with printers, including repair and managed print, is preferred
  • Strong knowledge and experience with desktop software Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, and Word is required
  • Microsoft Operating System experience is required
  • Experience with IBM AS/400 systems is preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skillsets are required
  • Experience working within IT ticketing systems and queues is required

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is an on-site position. Days and hours of work vary depending on business needs and range between 6:30am - 7:00pm central.

Travel

Travel to and from headquarters (HQ) location is required.
