Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or related field.
• 5+ years of environmental compliance experience in manufacturing (chemical manufacturing preferred).
• Knowledge of EPA and Texas regulations, permitting and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental compliance programs across air, water, wastewater, and waste management systems.
• Manage LDAR monitoring, flare testing, reporting, permits, and waste disposal.
• Ensure EPA, Texas regulations and local requirements compliance.
• Prepare permits, reports, and regulatory filings on time.
• Provide technical guidance for plant projects and MOC/SOPs.
• Deliver training and compliance support to leadership and operations.
• Track sustainability KPI metrics.
• Engage with regulatory agencies and industry groups.

Arkema is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer to support our Houston manufacturing facility. This high-visibility role is responsible for leading environmental compliance programs, driving sustainability initiatives, and ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations while supporting safe and efficient plant operations.

What You'll Do

• Lead environmental compliance programs across air, water, wastewater, and waste management systems
• Manage LDAR monitoring, flare testing, environmental reporting, permit compliance, and waste disposal activities
• Ensure compliance with EPA, TCEQ, OSHA, DOT, and local regulatory requirements
• Prepare and submit environmental permits, reports, and regulatory filings accurately and on time
• Provide technical guidance for plant projects, Management of Change (MOC), SOPs, and capital initiatives
• Deliver environmental training and compliance support to plant leadership and operations teams
• Track and report sustainability and environmental KPI metrics
• Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies and industry organizations

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or related field
• 5+ years of environmental compliance experience in manufacturing (chemical manufacturing preferred)
• Strong knowledge of EPA, Texas environmental regulations, permitting, and reporting requirements
• Experience managing multi-media environmental programs (air, water, wastewater, and waste)
• Excellent project management, problem-solving, and communication skills
• SAP and advanced Microsoft Office experience are a plus
