Job summary

Milwaukee Tool in Milwaukee, WI is seeking an Engineering Technician to perform mechanical and electrical tests on our products and competitive offerings. The role emphasizes accuracy, timely reporting, and collaboration with engineering teams.

You will develop test methods, operate lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and meters, and prepare technical reports. A technical associate degree and 3+ years hands-on testing experience are required, with LabVIEW/PLC exposure preferred.

Qualifications

  • Education equivalent to a technical Associate Degree.
  • Excellent organization & communication skills.
  • 3+ years of experience with test equipment, test procedures and methods, mechanical/electrical principles.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of test concepts in the design and development of products and components.
  • Strong knowledge of Meters, Oscilloscopes, torque wrenches and hand tools required.
  • PC hardware/software knowledge with the ability to program in LabVIEW, Visual Basic and PLC’s is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Dynamometers, power meters, power supplies, automated test equipment a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct diverse and complex mechanical and electrical tests on Milwaukee’s products and competitive products.
  • Determine product conformance to the test specifications.
  • Perform tests using a variety of electrical and mechanical test equipment and techniques.
  • Prepare reports of test results and make recommendations.
  • Exercise responsibility for thoroughness, timeliness and accuracy in preparing technical reports on tests performed.
  • Prepare these reports utilizing a PC with word processing, database, spreadsheet and statistical/graphical software.
  • Instruct and assign work to Engineering Technicians.
