Job summary

DoubleVerify, a leading software platform for digital media measurement, seeks a Senior Engineering Manager for the Social team in Soho, Manhattan. You will lead a distributed engineering group building deep social platform integrations to measure ad performance and scale high-volume real-time transactions.

You will drive architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and collaborate with executives to align technical execution with DV’s strategic goals.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of Python programming experience.
• 3+ years of leadership experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on work with big data systems (BigQuery, Airflow) and building data pipelines at scale.
• Fluent in SQL and data analysis.
• Experience with DevOps tools, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or a related field.
• Excellent communication skills and a team player.
• 1+ year of experience in online advertising technology (preferred).
• Expertise in dbt and BigQuery (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead a great team of engineers and develop large-scale distributed services for DoubleVerify's Social products.
• Deliver large complex projects, services, and APIs that scale iteratively and maximize business value.
• Oversee end-to-end integrations with social platforms and align with DV goals.
• Own major strategic initiatives for DV Engineering teams.
• Define processes that enable growth and execution of a diverse engineering organization.
• Provide technical guidance and coaching through design reviews and pair programming.
• Interact with executive management and business stakeholders to align objectives.
• Hire, interview, and onboard engineers and team leaders for the Social Integrations team.
• Continuously optimize SDLC processes, including CI/CD.
• Operate production environments and troubleshoot issues with feasible solutions.
• Work in multi-functional agile teams with end-to-end product development.

Position Overview

As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead the Social Engineering team responsible for new initiatives, designs and builds deep integrations with the world’s biggest social platforms to measure ad performance. You will make technical choices that ensure industry-leading scalability reliability factors on mission-critical systems that process billions of real-time transactions a day. You will lead the team to accomplish ambitious visions and work directly with engineers from the largest internet companies to collaborate on API development.

What will you do?

• Lead a great team of motivated engineers and develop critical, large-scale distributed services for DoubleVerify's Social products.
• Consistently delivers large complex projects, services, and APIs that scale in an iterative way that frontloads business value
• Oversee end-to-end integrations with the rapidly increasing list of Social Integration Platforms and has in-depth knowledge of business strategies and DoubleVerify’s goals.
• Own major strategic initiatives that consistently and routinely push forward DV Engineering teams
• Define processes and structures that enable the strong growth and execution of a diverse engineering organization.
• Contributes to architectural decisions with a focus on the product and business needs
• Continuously explore the technical landscape of the Big Data ecosystem through analysis of various frameworks and technologies.
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to engineers through brainstorming sessions, design reviews, and pair-programming
• Interacts internally and externally with executive-level management, requiring negotiation of highly critical matters.
• Communicates technical concepts to business stakeholders as well as communicates business objectives to the technical team[s].
• Attract, interview, hire, and onboard talented engineers and team leaders to build a shared team of Data and Software Engineers in DoubleVerify’s Social Integrations team.
• Continuously optimize SDLC processes, including through the implementation of CI/CD
• Operate production environments, investigate issues, assess their impact, and develop feasible solutions.
• Work in multi-functional agile teams with end-to-end responsibility for product development and delivery

• Experience in mentoring and growing a diverse team of talented data engineers.
