Ladders is seeking a Sr. Engineer - Platform Data Engineer to join a leader in the Information Technology space.

This remote role focuses on building and operating the data platform foundation that enables secure, scalable analytics and automation across the organization. You will partner with engineering, security, and data stakeholders to govern platform services, strengthen governance, and improve data workflows.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of infrastructure and data engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• CJIS clearance eligibility (US citizenship or Green Card).
• Advanced Python programming.
• Airflow deployment and administration expertise.
• Cloud experience (AWS, GCP, Azure, or OCI).
• IaC and container orchestration experience (Kubernetes/Docker).
• Knowledge of DBT and OpenMetadata.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and administer Airflow and Superset.
• Manage IaC for data platform components using Terraform.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for platform services and data workflows.
• Enforce platform security, access controls, and compliance standards.
• Develop data models with DBT and catalog assets in OpenMetadata.
• Write Python code for platform automation and data processing.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.

Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Sr. Engineer - Platform Data Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.

This role will focus on building and operating the data platform foundation that supports secure, scalable analytics and automation across the organization. You will partner closely with engineering, security, and data stakeholders to administer key platform services, strengthen governance, and improve the reliability of data workflows. The position also offers the opportunity to apply AI-enabled approaches to improve efficiency and support better decision-making.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $140,000 – $215,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and administer core platform tooling including Airflow and Superset
• Manage infrastructure-as-code (IaC) for data platform components using Terraform
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for platform services and data workflows
• Implement and enforce platform security, access controls, and compliance standards
• Develop and maintain data models using DBT and catalog assets within OpenMetadata
• Write efficient Python code for platform automation and data processing
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership

Qualifications

• Must be eligible for CJIS clearance (U.S. citizenship or Green Card required)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 8+ years of infrastructure and data engineering experience
• Advanced Python programming experience, 5+ years preferred
• Expert knowledge of Apache Airflow deployment and administration
• Strong experience with Apache Superset or similar BI platforms
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, Azure, or OCI
• Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
• Container orchestration experience with Kubernetes and/or Docker
• Knowledge of DBT and OpenMetadata
• SQL and data modeling expertise
• Experience with data security and compliance requirements
• Proven experience utilizing AI technologies for decision-making and efficiency
