Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role will focus on building and optimizing data infrastructure that supports reliable batch and real-time data movement across the organization. You will work closely with data analysts and decentralized technical teams to strengthen data modeling, transformation practices, and cloud data platform performance. The position also includes helping establish scalable engineering standards, reference architectures, and CI/CD best practices while contributing to mentorship and technical guidance across the team.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $110,956 – $199,720 annually

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable data pipelines for batch and real-time data movement.
• Serve as a core developer for the data platform, focusing on performance and data modeling.
• Architect transformation pipelines for high-quality data inputs to cloud data platform features.
• Establish reference architectures and CI/CD best practices for decentralized teams.
• Provide mentorship to a data engineer and guide data analysts in engineering practices.
• Drive adoption of dbt for data transformation and evaluate cloud data tool integrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, data engineering, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of data engineering experience with a focus on production-grade data pipelines.
• Advanced hands-on experience with Snowflake architecture and performance tuning.
• Experience in hybrid data movement from on-premises to cloud using various patterns.
• Strong Python and SQL skills, particularly in cloud environments.
