Job summary

Ally Financial seeks a Senior Engineer - Cyber Security to join the Information Protection and Risk Management (IPRM) team. You will lead development and implementation of security risk management, deploying and sustaining controls, and defining standards across Ally’s security landscape.

This mid-to-senior role reports to a Manager or Director of Engineering - Cyber Security and collaborates with cross-functional security engineers to meet business needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems or relevant field.
  • 3+ years of Information Security experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of working in security in large environments.
  • Ability to document security governance processes and procedures in team runbook.
  • CISSP strongly preferred.
  • Excellent data analysis skills using standard office tools are required.
  • Excellent communications skills (verbal and written) are required.
  • A strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact with personnel at all levels across the organization and to comprehend business imperatives.
  • A strong customer/client focus with ability to manage expectations appropriately and provide superior customer/client experience and build long-term relationships.
  • In depth technical knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibility will be support of security controls and security projects with potential to take on responsibilities for technologies such as Firewalls, IPS, Database monitoring, Content proxies, Anti-virus, and SIEM.
  • Support the day to day governance of the enterprise security controls by creating and deploying policies based on company standards.
  • Participate and drive system testing activities related to Information Security technologies to ensure security configurations and tools are maintained
  • Monitor technology availability and reliability and when necessary will assist with leading cross-domain teams to triage high priority or performance degrading incidents.
  • Create technical documentation to ensure effective operations/support of the enterprise Information Security solutions.
  • Work with Security teams to configure, implement and tune control systems to best meet the needs of the business.

Work Schedule:

Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. The Opportunity

The Senior Engineer - Cyber Security position at Ally is a member of the Information Protection and Risk Management team and works closely with other members of the IPRM program to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive approach to the management of security risks at Ally. The Senior Engineer - Cyber Security works with a team of security engineers within the IPRM Department to deploy, sustain and monitor technical controls and tools to meet specific securityrequirements, and defines processes and standards to ensure that security configurations and tools are maintained. This is a mid-level to senior-level position that will report to either a Manager or Director of Engineering - Cyber Security.

Base Pay Range

$85,000.00 - $150,000.00

An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer.

Incentive Compensation

This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
