Job summary

SimIS Inc. seeks a Senior Emerging Technology SME, Deployable Communications Systems, to design, secure, and optimize electronic data networks and communication infrastructure for integrated operation.

This onsite role in the Norfolk region requires deep expertise across cyber, cloud, and tactical networking, with NATO/multi-national experience and a strong PM background. The candidate will advise leadership, assess technologies, develop modernization plans, and support architecture reviews

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field as listed.
• Ten years of project management experience in communications or information systems.
• 5–10 years in cloud computing, network automation, enterprise or tactical networking, routing and switching, or virtualization.
• 5–10 years supporting satellite communications, cybersecurity, zero trust, or AI-enabled network management.
• 3+ years integrating emerging technologies.
• Minimum 3 years in NATO or multi-national military environments.

Responsibilities

• Advise DCIS Programme Director on future DCIS technologies.
• Conduct technology assessments of current NATO DCIS and perform capability gap analyses.
• Develop technical recommendations for capability modernization initiatives.
• Participate in DCIS architecture reviews.
• Support strategic planning for capability development of DCIS.
• Evaluate and perform technical assessments of technologies for operational deployment of DCIS.
• Produce capability evaluation reports and conduct technical briefings.
• Evaluate interoperability with legacy systems and Next Generation DCIS, FMN, Mission Networks.
• Support operational testing and evaluations (OpTEval).
• Evaluate integration of future technologies into existing DCIS architectures.

To support our customer, SimIS, Inc. seeks a Senior Emerging Technology SME, Deployable Communications Systems to design, secure, and optimize electronic data networks, hardware, and communication infrastructure so they work together as one integrated system.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, computer engineering, electrical engineering, telecommunications or an equivalent discipline.
• MSP, PRINCE2 or PMI certification is highly desirable
• Ten (10) years of experience in project management of communications or information systems integration, implementation or operation, using program and project management methodologies
• 5-10 years of experience with cloud computing, network automation, enterprise networking, tactical networking, routing and switching, or virtualization
• 5-10 years of experience supporting satellite communications, cybersecurity, zero trust, or AI-enabled network management
• Demonstrated experience in capability development of deployable CIS, enterprise or tactical CIS, or Signals capacity in a subject matter expert role
• Minimum 3 years integrating emerging technologies
• Minimum 3 years in working in NATO or multi-national military environment
