Description

Overall Responsibility: We are seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer to join our Boston-area (Braintree, MA) office. The engineer will be involved in designing electrical systems for buildings and facilities, including medium voltage substations, switchgear, transformers, distribution panels, and circuiting. The role involves working on complex projects across various sectors such as commercial, industrial, institutional, and airports. The successful candidate will lead design and quality control efforts, manage a team, and participate in construction administration. This position reports to the Corporate Mechanical Discipline Lead, Project Managers, and the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities include technical management, client liaison, ensuring project quality, timeliness, and budget adherence.

Essential Functions:

• Lead technical design and project management for electrical projects.
• Coordinate resources and team assignments.
• Maintain communication with clients and internal teams.
• Assist in developing mechanical staff.
• Supervise staff work when assigned.
• Participate in project status meetings.
• Ensure coordinated multidisciplinary design.
• Adhere to company standards and procedures.
• Create and review drawings and specifications.
• Contribute to project estimation and planning.
• Provide guidance during construction.
• Perform site surveys and engineering studies.
• Attend meetings and monitor project schedules and quality.
• Review project documentation and resolve design issues.

Secondary Functions:

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Needed Skills:

• Proficiency in project management.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Deep knowledge of electrical systems for large public facilities.
• Understanding of national and state electrical codes, NFPA, and building codes.
• Knowledge of mechanical, fire protection, and special systems engineering.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize.
• Detail-oriented and safety-conscious.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Ability to build productive relationships.

Minimum Education/Experience:

• BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering.
• PE license in Electrical Engineering, with the ability to obtain in all six New England states within six months.
• At least 10 years of industry experience, with 3-5 years in project management.
• Valid US driver's license.
• Eligibility to work in the US.
• Ability to meet security requirements, including background checks.
