Job description

Sr. Electrical Controls Engineer
Build automation that keeps real factories running!

You design the logic that turns steel and wire into smart, reliable production. Here, your controls will drive automated manufacturing systems across multiple facilities and industries.

You’ll take projects from concept to commissioning – analyzing requirements, designing controls architecture, programming PLCs and HMIs, and seeing it all come to life on the plant floor.

When a line starts up on time and runs smooth, you’ll know it’s because of you.

If you live for industrial automation – from PLC code to motion and networks – we want to talk to you.

What You'll Work On

You’ll be the go-to controls engineer on a variety of industrial automation projects, including:

  • Automated manufacturing equipment and production lines
  • PLC-based control systems for industrial facilities
  • HMI interfaces for operators and maintenance teams
  • Drives, servos, and motion control systems
  • Industrial Ethernet and control networks
  • Electrical control panels and related hardware
  • Factory-wide automation and integration initiatives
  • System testing, commissioning, and optimization

You’ll work across technologies like Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Rockwell, Omron, Mitsubishi, GE, Fanuc, DeltaV, PLC Direct, SCADA platforms (Ignition, FactoryTalk View, iFix, Wonderware, WinCC, Citect, VTScada, ICONICS), DCS systems (PlantPAx, Fisher PROVOX, Moore APACS), and robotics from ABB, Fanuc, KUKA, Yaskawa/Motoman, Universal Robots, and more.

This is hands-on industrial automation – from drawings and code to powering up real machines.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Designing and developing control systems for industrial automation applications
  • Programming and troubleshooting PLCs for automated manufacturing systems
  • Creating and refining HMI screens and operator interfaces
  • Configuring and supporting drives, servos, and motion control solutions
  • Designing and troubleshooting industrial networks for controls and SCADA
  • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, P&IDs, and engineering drawings
  • Collaborating with engineers, project managers, and system owners on project scope
  • Managing project timelines to keep work on schedule and within budget
  • Conducting testing, startup, and commissioning of automation systems
  • Troubleshooting control issues and implementing long-term fixes
  • Supporting improvements and upgrades to existing automated equipment
  • Providing customer-facing engineering services and technical support
What We're Looking For
  • Experience designing, developing, and troubleshooting automated manufacturing systems in industrial facilities
  • Strong knowledge of PLC programming for industrial automation
  • Experience with HMI design for machine and process control
  • Working knowledge of industrial networks used in control systems
  • Ability to read and work from electrical schematics and P&IDs
  • Experience with motion control systems and servo drives
  • Background in electrical control panel design and integration
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, computer, or related) or technical associate’s with equivalent experience
The Experience That Will Really Get Our Attention

You’ve been the controls point-person on the plant floor – comfortable jumping into a PLC program, deciphering a print, and getting a stubborn machine back online. You understand how to design robust control systems up front so you’re not just firefighting later.

If you’ve touched multiple platforms and worked across PLCs, HMIs, drives, SCADA, DCS, and robotics, you’ll stand out fast.

Why This Opportunity?

You won’t be boxed into one line or one machine – you’ll see a variety of projects, technologies, and facilities, and build a deep, real-world automation toolbox.

The environment is flexible, mission-focused, and team-oriented, with room to align work with your personal and professional goals.

Compensation is strong for the right experience, with an excellent package that includes

  • 100% paid medical premium
  • matching 401(k)
  • profit sharing bonus
  • overtime eligibility
