Job summary

UCSF Health is seeking a Senior EEG Technologist to join the Neurology Department. The role involves performing EMGs and evoked potentials for both adult and pediatric patients across inpatient and outpatient settings, including ICUs and nursing floors. You will ensure electrode and equipment integrity and contribute to performance improvement and staff development initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Registered EEG Technologist (R. EEG T.).
  • At least two years of experience as an EEG Technologist.
  • At least two years’ experience in an acute care hospital setting.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
  • Experience with computerized medical equipment.
  • Possession of a high school diploma.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and online communication.
  • Graduate from an accredited training program in Electroneurodiagnostics or a combination of training and experience.
  • Ability to work variable shifts and days.
  • Demonstrates ability to be an independent, motivated self-starter

Responsibilities

The Senior EEG Technologist, under the direction of Supervisor and medical director will participate as an integral member of the Neurology Department by performing mainly Electromyograms, evoked potentials (EPs) and other specialized procedures in both adult and pediatric inpatient and outpatient settings, including nursing floors, intensive care units and other specialized locations. The Senior EEG Technologist will ensure electrode and equipment integrity. The Senior EEG Technologist actively participates in departmental and organizational programs, including performance improvement activities, in-services and staff development activities.

  • Proficient in computer skills including Word, Excel, and on line communication.
  • Possession of good interpersonal, time management, problem solving and self-initiation skills.
  • Graduate from an accredited training program in Electroneurodiagnostics or a combination of training and experience.
  • Ability to work variable shifts and days.
  • Demonstrates ability to be an independent, motivated self-starter
Preferred
  • Successful completion of accredited neurodiagnostic program.
  • Completion of at least 12 months of fulltime (or equivalent) practical training performing NCSs under the
  • direct supervision of an EDX physician.
  • Prior experience working in an academic medical center environment.
  • Possession of current CPR certification.
