Sr. Distribution Manager – Olive Branch, MS
A Sr. Distribution Manager ensures safety, productivity and quality in a high‑volume, multi‑site distribution center. Responsibilities include meeting on‑time shipping for customers, managing first‑line supervisors and hourly employees, and driving continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Embrace, demonstrate and enforce the company culture as a primary driver of daily operations and interactions.
- Manage supervisors and managers for inbound, picking, outbound, and cycle counting operations.
- Develop and manage continuous improvement and cost‑saving projects, coordinating cross‑functional resources and reporting deliverables.
- Prepare reports and statistics on on‑time shipments, fill rate, shipment accuracy and safety.
- Build skills of leaders and associates through coaching in lean tools, cultural change and strategy deployment.
- Contribute to design and improvement of process flows to meet annual demand.
- Manage multiple product flows to guarantee on‑time shipment.
- Ensure organizational alignment on safety and resource requirements for projects and integrated changes.
- Provide feedback and insight to supervisors and associates to facilitate continuous improvement and career growth.
- Adhere to safety regulations and work closely with senior leadership and support functions to enhance processes and performance.
- Provide innovative solutions to problem solving and build organizational capacity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Quality Management or Production & Operations Management.
- 5+ years leading distribution teams.
- Exceptional knowledge of distribution principles, warehouse management systems and automation systems.
- Excellent analytical and logical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex business processes.
- Knowledge of lean principles such as value stream mapping, kaizen, communication tools and problem solving.
- Strong organizational skills and understanding of production systems and techniques.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
