Responsibilities
Center Leadership and Development
  • Develop and lead Panasonic’s global electric vehicle battery strategic roadmap and business plan.
  • Establish and manage the Business Development Center, defining focus areas, structure, and processes.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team with industry-relevant expertise.
  • Manage the center's budget and resources.
Strategic Planning and Market Analysis
  • Lead long-term strategic planning in collaboration with leadership.
  • Conduct market research and analysis on demand, technology, costs, and competitive landscape in North America.
  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes.
  • Evaluate strategic initiatives for product development, manufacturing, and market entry.
Business Development and Partnerships
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships across the EV battery value chain.
  • Build relationships with industry stakeholders, research institutions, and investors.
  • Lead negotiations and execution of strategic agreements and collaborations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Lead initiatives for market entry and product roadmaps, collaborating with R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Sales.
  • Provide insights on market trends and technological advancements.
Performance Monitoring
  • Define and track KPIs such as market share, cost competitiveness, and partnership success.
  • Report to senior leadership and recommend strategic adjustments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related; MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years in strategy/business development in the battery or related industry.
  • 7+ years in leadership roles, building and leading diverse teams.
  • Deep knowledge of battery technology, supply chain, and market trends.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Financial modeling experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Fluent in Japanese.
  • Alignment with Panasonic’s core principles.
