Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Sr. Director, Project Valuation & Analytics to join a leader in the Energy & Utilities space.

The role is remote, guiding the financial view of solar and BESS assets, partnering with development, investment and executive teams to assess economics and inform capital decisions. The ideal candidate has deep energy finance expertise and strong modeling skills, with 8–10+ years of experience and MBA preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred.
• 8–10+ years in renewable energy finance, infra investing, project development, or energy analytics.
• Proven modeling experience for utility-scale solar/BESS projects.
• Knowledge of incentives, project finance, and power markets.
• Experience supporting acquisitions, financings, or investment decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead detailed financial models for utility-scale solar and BESS projects.
• Evaluate project economics, including revenue modeling and financing structures.
• Conduct DCF, IRR, and NPV analyses.

For our client, we are seeking a Sr. Director, Project Valuation & Analytics to join the team of a leader in the Energy & Utilities space.

This leader will shape the financial view of utility-scale renewable energy projects, with a focus on solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) assets.

The role will partner closely with development, investment, and executive teams to assess project economics, support capital allocation decisions, and inform strategic planning.

The ideal candidate will bring deep energy finance expertise and strong modeling skills to help guide acquisitions, financing activity, and portfolio optimization.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $230,000 – $275,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of detailed financial models for utility-scale solar and BESS projects
• Evaluate project economics, including revenue modeling and financing structures
• Conduct financial analyses, including DCF, IRR, and NPV assessments
• Develop scenario modeling for various market forecasts and policy changes
• Build analytics to support capital allocation and strategic planning decisions
• Evaluate development pipeline performance for optimization opportunities
• Prepare investment memos and presentations for executive leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred
• 8-10+ years of experience in renewable energy finance, infrastructure investing, project development, or energy analytics
• Demonstrated expertise in modeling utility-scale renewable energy or solar and/or BESS projects
• In‑depth knowledge of renewable energy incentives, project finance, and power markets
• Proven track record supporting project acquisitions, financings, or investment committee decisions
• Proficiency in advanced financial modeling (Excel or equivalent)
• Familiarity with energy market analytics tools or datasets
