Overview

A leading renewable energy developer is seeking a highly experienced Director of Project Valuation & Analytics to lead key initiatives within its Structured Finance function. This role is responsible for project underwriting, valuation, and financial modeling across the portfolio, as well as maintaining consistency and best-in-class valuation standards across all projects.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or Engineering. MBA or other relevant advanced degree strongly preferred.


• Experience: 10+ years of experience in financial analysis and project finance, including debt and tax equity, gained at an independent power producer, utility, or commercial or investment bank, with a strong focus on energy or infrastructure.


• Additional Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge: Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, analysis, and related tools; deep, hands-on experience with project underwriting, valuation, and financial modeling; strong understanding of solar and energy storage project economics; direct experience valuing combined solar and storage (PV + BESS) projects; ability to analyze power market fundamentals and accurately interpret merchant revenue streams; proven experience modeling construction loans, term debt, and tax equity structures; strong analytical skills with the ability to structure complex financial transactions; solid understanding of capital markets, including debt, equity, tax equity, and credit financing; strong management capabilities and experience working with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial modeling to support project financing, pricing decisions, and portfolio management.


• Partner with legal, finance, and development teams to ensure consistent, best-in-class modeling and valuation practices.


• Own and manage project underwriting criteria across the portfolio.


• Lead modeling and underwriting standards for PV + BESS projects.


• Work cross-functionally to implement underwriting frameworks.

Market Analysis

• Analyze market fundamentals and forward power curves for use in financial models.


• Provide strategic guidance to senior leadership on market conditions, financing options, and capital allocation.


• Provide guidance and support on financial structuring, negotiations, and market analysis.


• Ensure effective communication and coordination across teams to support financing initiatives.
