Job summary

Quantinuum seeks a Sr. Director of DOE Laboratory Partnerships to drive collaboration with the U.S. Department of Energy National Laboratories and develop quantum computing use cases aligned with DOE missions.

The role focuses on identifying, co-developing, and deploying government-relevant applications across materials science, energy, and national security, in support of Quantinuum's quantum computing portfolio.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of direct experience working with or within the DOE National Laboratory complex or a federal R&D environment.
• 10+ years of experience in quantum computing applications including chemistry, material science, condensed matter physics, AI/ML, nuclear physics, high energy physics, plasma and fusion
• Understanding principles of error correction, quantum algorithm design, and deep understanding of fault-tolerant computation

Responsibilities

• Act as primary contact for DOE National Labs and build deep technical relationships.
• Map organizational quantum hardware/software capabilities against specific DOE mission use cases and develop algorithms/roadmaps.
• Coordinate joint research proposals, CRADAs, and SPPs with DOE counterparts.
• Report on findings and progress to key stakeholders and explore dual-use commercial applications
