Job summary

Quantinuum seeks a highly strategic and technically adept Sr. Director of DOE Laboratory Partnerships to drive collaboration with the U.S. Department of Energy National Laboratories.

You will identify, develop, and deploy quantum computing use cases aligned with DOE mission areas and help shape applications and algorithms for current and next-generation quantum systems. This front-facing role requires deep DOE familiarity, leadership of cross-functional teams, and the ability to translate

Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, Chemistry, Applied Mathematics, or a related STEM field.
• 10+ years of work with or within the DOE National Laboratory complex or a federal R&D environment.
• 10+ years in quantum computing applications across chemistry, materials, AI/ML, physics, or related fields.
• Understanding error correction, quantum algorithms, and fault-tolerant computation.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Lab Engagement: primary contact for DOE National Labs; build relationships with Lab Directors and QIS leads.
• Use Case Identification & Co-Development: map DOE use cases to quantum capabilities; coordinate CRADAs and SPPs; co-design algorithms.
• Report progress to stakeholders and explore dual-use commercial opportunities.
