DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Sr. Director, Corporate Communications to lead enterprise-level communications and shape the company’s reputation across a period of transformation and growth.

The role reports to senior leadership and requires partnering with Legal, HR, Regulatory, Marketing and other leaders to deliver consistent messaging and strategic leadership communications for internal and external audiences.

Qualifications

• Typically requires 12+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, public relations, or related fields, with significant leadership responsibility.
• Proven experience leading enterprise‑level communication strategies in a complex, regulated environment.
• Demonstrated success advising senior and executive leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the global corporate communications strategy to support DePuy Synthes’ business objectives, brand positioning, and organizational transformation.
• Serve as a strategic communications advisor to executive leadership, providing counsel on messaging, stakeholder engagement, and reputational risk.
• Oversee internal communications to drive employee engagement, change adoption, and alignment with company priorities and values.
• Lead external communications, including corporate announcements, media relations, executive communications, and thought leadership.
• Manage crisis and issues communications, ensuring timely, accurate, and coordinated responses.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Legal, HR, Regulatory, Marketing, and Business Leaders to ensure messaging accuracy and compliance.
• Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing communications team and manage agency partnerships as needed.
• Ensure all communications align with Johnson & Jñor’s Credo and leadership expectations.

Job Overview

The Sr. Director, Corporate Communications will lead the strategic direction, development, and execution of enterprise‑level communications for DePuy Synthes. This role is critical in shaping the company’s reputation, strengthening employee engagement, and supporting business priorities during a period of transformation and growth. Education

Experience and Skills

• Typically requires 12+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, public relations, or related fields, with significant leadership responsibility.
• Proven experience leading enterprise‑level communication strategies in a complex, regulated environment.
• Demonstrated success advising senior and executive leadership.
• Strong experience managing internal and external communications, including media relations and change communications.
• Experience leading and developing high‑performing teams.

Preferred

• Experience in healthcare, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or other highly regulated industries.
• Experience supporting corporate transformations, mergers, separations, or large‑scale change initiatives.
• Global communications experience and cross‑cultural collaboration.
• Strong stakeholder management and crisis communications expertise.
• Familiarity with digital and employee communication platforms.
• Exceptional written, verbal, and executive‑level communication skills.

• Language requirements: English (required).
• Travel: Up to ~20%, domestic and occasional international.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$178,000.00 - $307,050.00

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long‑term incentive program.

Benefits

• Vacation –120 hours per calendar year
• Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year
• Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year
• Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
• Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child
• Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
